New York, NY: Bantam.             Anne Frank’s The Diary of a Young Girl is one of the most well known records of World War II. The novel is written in the way of a diary. Anne’s diary was written as a way to express her experiences while hiding in the attic when the Nazis occupied Holland. New York, NY: HarperPerennial Classics.             Nathaniel Hawthorne’s short story entitled The Minister’s Black Veil is a tale that surrounds the life of the Reverend Mr. Hooper. Mr. Hooper, for reasons unknown, is shown wearing a black veil covering most of his face. This veil makes the very town uncomfortable to be around Mr. Hooper. New York, NY: HarperTrophy.             Karen Cushman’s novel Catherine, Called Birdy is focused on the main character Catherine. The story concentrates on Catherine’s life and how her father is trying to find her a rich husband. Even though her father is looking for a husband for Catherine, he does not ask her for her opinions on which she should marry. Of course, the richest suitor for Catherine has to be the most ugly. Catherine then has to figure out a way to get out of that marriage, which she does.             I read this novel when I was in elementary school. I always loved Historical Fiction. Then they continue their club even with their daughters who are born in America. The lives of these women become more and more connected as the years go on.
